Salzburg

Garden in "The Sound of Music"

Salzburg is really a Mozart town, but it is also a place you can see lots of scenes from "The Sound of music". I went to the garden where Maria and kids learning Do-Re-Mi. It is interesting! The garden is called "Mirabell Garten".

Vienna

Sewer system in "The Third Man"

I would like to join "The Third Man" tour, which takes people to the sewer system of Vienna shown in this classic movie. However, when I went to the meeting place (a subway exit), there is no one. I think this tour might be terminated, or I was on the wrong side of the exit. Anyway, the rain was heavy when I visited, so it is possible that the tour was cancelled.

Giant Ferris Wheel
in "The Third Man" and "Before the sunrise"

The Giant Ferris Wheel is another Vienna landmark. I have seen it from the movies, "The Third Man" and "Before the sunrise". It is a place easy to visit. Just go to Wien North station, and you will see the big wheel there.

There is also a 4km-long narrow gauge railway called "Liliputbahn" near the wheel. This narrow gauge railway is quite interesting. Passengers can experience riding trains under the "tunnel of trees".
