◆請問 (獸，99/02/03) 我想知世界末日的牆是如何的蔓延？
Reading is one of the many joys of my life. However, I read books without really caring about the actual details so much though, especially authors like Murakami and many others.
The reason I do that is because many concrete descriptions of different episodes in books are really just trying to suggest to us or generate out of us emotions and feelings that are not so easily detected within us in daily life anyway.
That's only my opinions though.
So, when I read Murakami, how the wall spreads really isn't that significant, at least it's no more significant than scenes like trying to find the musical instrument or the skull of the imaginary monsters. Those things are just trying to say something to us, and we probably all have different answers.
It's just great when a book no longer is just prints but something that interacts.
Of course, if you are trying to find out for fun, that's totally another category then.
Remember to tell me when you find out, because I don't really know, either. Like I said, everyone probably reads differently anyway.

最近突然想問村上春樹：《挪威的森林》中，直子住的那所療養院，真的存在嗎？
根據我的記憶－－雖然它常常不太可靠－－有人問過村上，他說：那並不是實際存在的療養院哩。難道有讀者去找過找不到了？
村上的文章有阿飛的味道。
村上會來台灣嗎？

村上春樹的文章有香港王家衛電影風格－－擁抱著「阿飛正傳」的頹廢、自我放逐和隨心所欲，以及「重慶森林」在都市叢林間的無目的的窺視、鬆懈。
太想見村上了 !!!!!!!
Huh, are they really so alike? I mean Wong and Murakami.
I don't know, maybe. It's all about that, isn't it?
We all feel it, on the crowded streets where pretty and ugly people both walk by, in the numerous smells of the city and the darkened sky, out there in the world. It might pop up right in front of us when we are confronted with those supposedly creative commercials. It's everywhere, in numbers, in clothes, in books, in elevators, in different hotel lobbies and cafes, sometimes, in food or in music.
It's just freaking everywhere.
Mechanical motions, fragments of reality, and we don't know how to put the puzzle together. We feel the inconsistency and the lack, but we don't know where the answer is. And the world out there just keeps on coming up to your face, and you get distracted from it temporarily.
It's still there though.

有沒有人想將村上春樹書中的「外來語」集結成冊、名詞解釋一番呢？

謝謝你的來信和提議。不過哦，不知道你指的村上春樹書中的「外來語」，有沒有特定的指涉呢？
如果沒有的話，所謂「外來語」，就是平常日本人將英語、法語等非日語系的語言文字，用片假名標示記錄而成的。日本的外來語隨時都在增加中，不過最常見的字詞，應該可以在「外來語字典」裡找到。
我們當然可以編一本出現在村上春樹作品中的所有外來語的集合，不過，這件事情工程浩大，還得靠大家一起努力才行呢。有人要當第一個整理資料的人嗎？

關於村上書中的外來語，我覺得那是即使懂日文的人也最棘手的一部份吧，相信賴明珠小姐亦是。因為困難的並不是那些外來語字典當中查得到的字，而是那些有關於人名、作家名稱的東西。
如果時報有意願出版這樣的書，那麼建議不妨出版一本《村上外來語人名辭典》我想會比較有意義吧，針對村上提到的樂手、作家等等去做介紹。因為妳知道在譯介的過程當中，外來語往往是譯者最傷腦筋，也是最方便偷懶的一部份。說方便偷懶是因為，只要照著日文發音的擬似英文發音，套上中文譯音同音字，那麼即可混水摸魚過去，誰知道妳知不知道這人（名）是何背景、有什麼象徵意義。
說傷腦筋是，如果妳是一個通識程度不及村上的人，那麼妳得第一先找出原文，不管是英文也好、法文也好，然後再去翻人名字典，知道這人是何來歷、有何背景，才不至於張冠李戴。
我記得賴明珠小姐也說過，這是她翻譯時感到困難的一部份。

不過關於你提議由時報出版村上小說中的人名外來語這件事，我覺得以書籍方式出版的可能性好像不太大耶，倒是如果大家有興趣，在網路森林裡慢慢建立起這樣一個類似資料庫的東西，是比較可行，而且或許對讀者們也較有幫助的事。（畢竟資料印成書本後便定型了，網路上的資料則可以不斷新增，必要時也可以多方討論、修訂。）
先前已有一位朋友針對費茲傑羅整理了一份資料，我們還有村上春樹自己寫的《爵士群像》裡各個爵士樂手的介紹，也許我們可以把它當成一個開端。有人要接下去嗎？
